Quick Find, Anybody Can Perform This Magic Card Trick

Posted on 11. Aug, 2010 by amauto.

With some early preparation most magic card tricks are easy to perform. Amaze your audience with tricks all you need is a little practice. Most card tricks are easy for children to perform and they will have fun mystifying their friends. The name of this trick is the ‘Quick Find’ it is a well known trick.

Preparing yourself:

Before you begin your trick you will need to remove four cards from your deck of cards. Do the trick with a deck of 52 cards, that is a standard poker deck of cards. Take out the two red nines and two red sixes. The six of hearts and six of diamonds and the nine of hearts and nine of diamonds are the removed cards. The six of hearts needs to go at the bottom of the deck and also the nine of diamonds needs to go at the top of the deck. Make sure the cards are facing down. Take the nine of hearts and six of diamonds out.

To begin the trick:

Let the audience see the nine of hearts and six of diamonds by laying them facing up on the table, keep the deck in your left hand. Now, hold out the deck of cards and ask someone from your audience to place both the nine of hearts and the six of diamonds into the deck anywhere they would like. Now the deck has those cards back in it.

The grand finale:

{Holding the deck of cards in your left hand {or the right depending on which is more comfortable} , squeeze the top card and the bottom card together and toss the deck into your other hand.~Now with grace hold the deck in which ever hand is the most comfortable to you, put the deck into your other hand while squashing the top and bottom card together.~The deck will be moved from one hand to the other so begin with it in the most comfortable hand for you and with discretion as the deck moves to your other hand squish the top and bottom card together.} This leaves the top card and the bottom card so you can reveal them showing that you have found the cards.

Although these are not the same choice of cards that were chosen by the audience, they never notice that they are looking at a six instead of a nine, it almost always works. The success of this trick will depend on how quickly and smoothly you can perform the ‘Quick Find’ trick.

An alternative version of the ‘Quick Find’ trick:

This version is basically identical to the last one except for one thing. Rather than use the similar colored cards from the same deck in this version you will take an identical deck and steal the exact same cards putting them in the deck in your hand. One goes on the top and one goes on the bottom of the deck again all face down.

In this version you can use any two cards. The six of clubs and nine of diamonds may be used. Before placing these two cards like before on the deck in your hand, show the audience what cards they are. Ask your audience to place the cards lying on the table into the deck in random places. In order to make it easier and exciting you can spread out the deck on the table and let them insert the cards this way. The face of the cards cannot be seen. When you squeeze the deck and transfer it you will end up with the exact cards that the audience member has placed into your deck.

The Vanishing Coin Trick – Guaranteed To Astonish And Simple To Achieve.

Posted on 09. Aug, 2010 by amauto.

2

The vanishing coin trick must have been heard by everyone. With some practice anyone can perform this version of that trick. This version requires the use of a secret partner.

For the trick to start:

You will need a handkerchief, two coins that are the same, a smart assistant and a shirt with a front pocket on it to get through this trick. To begin you will have already placed one of the coins in your pocket or you can have your secret partner put the coin in their pocket.Let your audience believe that the coin you just took from your pocket was any random coin.Cover the coin and your hand with the handkerchief. To do it with flair you will need to practice it.Now you ask the audience, “Will anyone assist me?Come and feel underneath the handkerchief to make sure my hand is still holding the coin.”It does not have to be your partner that you call first to check the coin. After they have checked for the coin, you can ask another person to do the same thing or you can go directly to your secret partner and ask them to come and check if the coin is still there.

In conclusion:

When your secret partner checks for the coin, they actually pretend to just touch the coin to verify it is still there but instead they secretly take the coin, hiding it from the audience. To be sure that no one in the audience suspects your friend has taken the coin, they must be very sneaky and professional.

Now you can say a couple magic words and pull the handkerchief away with a grand gesture and announce that the coin has vanished. Then you might say, “Ah, but where did that pesky coin go?”Searching in your pocket you are looking for your coin everywhere. Then ask everyone else to check their pockets for the coin. Now amazingly the coin has appeared in your partner’s hand, it was in their pocket. Also you have the option of looking into your friend’s pocket and getting it yourself, “Here it is.”

The second version of the same trick:

Another simple version of the coin disappearing trick will take a little preparation before you perform the trick.Take a coin and glue it somewhere near the bottom of the back side of a playing card.Pretend you are balancing the coin on the card even though you are not.Keep your other hand under the card as if you were waiting to catch the coin when it slips off the card.

Quickly turn the card over onto your other hand and then pretend you have transferred the coin from the card into your hand.Making certain that the coin has not slipped off the card put them both into your pocket without anyone noticing that the coin is still on it.

You now supposedly have the coin in your hand so you can say some magic words and wave your other hand over it opening it to reveal the coin is gone. When you open your hand it is empty and the coin appears to have disappeared.

Your Card Will Magically Change Color With This Card Trick

Posted on 29. Jul, 2010 by amauto.

With just some practice everyone can pull off this card trick. Want to leave your friends scratching their temples amazed at how you pulled off a trick? Then practice and it will become second nature to you and do not stress it is always awkward when a trick is new.

Item you will need to get through this trick:

Make sure you have one deck of cards that has a blue back and another deck of cards that has a red back and they both are the same sized cards. Select ten cards, five from the red deck and five from the blue deck, it does not matter what cards you get out.

Begin with this:

Make five pairs of cards in your hand out of the ten that you selected, remember to pile them with one red then one blue and so on. Show the cards, number and all, to your friends and be sure to hide the red and black backs from them. An audience member now has to select one of the cards in your hand by pointing to it. Take out the card they chose and with a little magic place it on display with it facing up so that everyone can see. Separate the cards in your hand by putting those that came in front of the selected card into your left hand and the rest in your right. While you have dropped the selected card onto the table no one will be paying attention to your hands so that is when you can put the right hand cards under the cards in your left hand. Be sure not to show the backs of the cards.

The next phase:

And now that part of the trick which will bedazzle you. Even though there are some cards with red backs and some with blue, the people must believe that they all have the same colored backs. To keep up this charade you must keep the deck of cards tight especially after you have put your right hand cards under the left cards. All the cards are still up facing. Turn the card at the top of the pile over revealing the back of it. You might say, “As you can see, all of the cards are blue on the back.” As you say this you can casually turn the stack in your left hand over showing it also has a blue back. Ask them if they believe that their card has changed color and place both the top card and those in your left hand in separate bunches in front of them.

The trick is to make the color change so if they chose a card with a blue back tell them that it has now magically become red. Turn it over for the amazing reveal. The color has changed from the selected card. Amazing!

My thoughts in closing:

With great practice this trick will bring joy to your friends. It is all about keeping the stacks closed so the different colors are not revealed. The back color of the card depends on the audience, it is whichever one they choose. The card they choose will not matter. When the right hand cards were put behind the left hand cards you reassigned the order.

Anyone Can Perform This Simple Magic Card Trick

Posted on 23. Jul, 2010 by amauto.

1

If you are looking for a simple magic trick that even children can do, try magic card tricks. This is the perfect trick for children. The only thing they need to do is to know some maths. This can be done with fantastic results so long as it is practiced over and over again.

What to do first:

First you will need a 52 card deck of cards which is the proper poker deck then you will turn to those who are watching the trick and tell them you are going to split the deck into various bundles, now shuffle the deck. The card at the top of each pile is the card that you begin with it is important to hold the decks facing upwards so you keep track of everything that is going on. Number the piles from one to thirteen, ace being the number one card. How many cards it takes to reach thirteen will depend on the number of the starting card. So, if your first card is an ace you will start by counting one and count cards into a pile up to thirteen. Your initial card is a two, so we will take the next card as number three, then the next as number four and so on until we have counted thirteen cards, it wont matter what the suits are. When the initial card is a ten then the next card will be eleven, then twelve followed by thirteen to complete the pile. Do not count out loud. In this pile you will only find four cards. Place the piles on a bench or table facing up and when you have used them up carefully turn them over so that the cards that were at the bottom are now on the top of the pile.

Here is the finesse:

While you are counting, try to make it look like you are NOT counting the cards but merely making some random piles. Do not put a face card in the beginning of a pile. On the chance that you select a face card as your first card then put in back in the deck saying, “I hate face cards so much” and continue on with the magic. The whole time you are counting out your piles of cards you are looking at the cards face up in your hand. There will not be enough cards to make a whole pile with once you come to the end of the deck. Because the remaining cards will not make a pile of thirteen they have to be put aside and not mixed in with the rest. Just say, “I have enough cards already” and place the rest safely aside. Math is what it is about so be sure you keep track of your counting.

Next piece of the trick:

There will be seven piles of cards in front of you approximately. It does not matter how many piles you have. Now you tell your audience that you would like them to remove piles and hand them to you. As they make their choices, take the remaining cards you set aside and put them back into your hand face down. Add the piles they hand to you to the cards in your hand. When there are six piles you must let them remove three whole piles and when you have seven piles get them to move 4 of them away. The object is to leave three piles. You might tell them they are to leave three piles.

Now the fun part:

Let the people flip over the card on the top of any two piles to reveal what is there. Two of the piles now have up facing cards on the top. Tell them you will now search through the deck to find the number of the card that is on the top of the last pile. Do not tell them you will know the suit, only the number of the card. The magic continues. Without looking like you are counting your cards but merely sifting through the cards in your hand looking at them one by one as if you were searching for the right number. Actually, you are counting the cards. The first thing to do is count ten of the cards. Next read out the number on the starting card that is facing up on one of the piles of cards. Then you will count to the number of the second face up card. So, if you had a two and a three turned over on the two piles you will be counting out the ten cards, then two and then three more cards from the turned over cards.

The big finale:

You are still holding some cards that are left in your hand. You could have ten or one card left it does not matter. Without being suspicious put the final cards down after you have counted them and proclaim, “I think I have your card.” The number of the card I am holding on the top pile is “.” After counting out all of the other cards be sure to say what the remaining cards are. Call it and say it is an Ace when there is just the one card remaining. You will say the card is a two if there are two cards left and so on. Rather than flip over the last card yourself, let the audience member turn it over.

In closing:

It wont fail as long as you have counted everything correctly.

When turning the piles over keep an eye on the first cards on the top of each pile, do not let them be misplaced.

Make sure you start with 52 cards.

This trick is a sure fire winner and guaranteed to impress. The better your acting the more you will impress.
