Tune Guitar Technology – Picking The Right Tuner

Tune Guitar Technology is something that musicians use every day. Technology is essential to every professional guitar player out there. After a while you will be able to tune by ear but until that time you will sound terrible if you don’t have a tuning machine. I have gone through many in my time as a guitarist and I will be going over what I look for in a tuning machine in this article. It is my hope that this will help you make an informed decision and avoid being ripped off by a bad brand or tuning device.

There’s several different categories of guitar tuners. Some guitar tuners are able to clip onto the guitar itself, and they can also sense the pitch of the notes through the vibrations of the strings. Other tuners have small mics that are built in to them. They work the best when they are put next to the guitar sound exit. The microphone tuners normally have an input where you can plug in your cable as well. It will get auto responses and it is very helpful. Although tuners now-a-days are included in many pedals.
Atune guitar technologylways get a chromatic tuner. If you ever want to tune down to a Eb (important for some great songs) then you will need a chromatic tuner to sense the notes. Most tuners are infact chromatic but it is still something to be mindful of.
Clip on tuners are the most popular tuners in todays guitar world, and you will see them everywhere. Intillitouch was the company that paved the way in clip on tuners, but many other companies followed. The clip on tuners are great because the ambient noise does not effect them as much. Ambient noise can be a tuning problem in concerts. These tuners pick up vibration from instruments mainly. Some tuners also come with this thing called an automatic shut-off feature. This is great if you always forget to turn stuff off like I do.

Mic and plug in tuners are ok but honestly I prefer the clip on ones. The non clip on ones work if you are going to plug them in directly but that is a huge hassle, and who really has the time?

Pedal tuners are great also. They can be a foot pedal (very convienient) and are used to amplify pickup. They can work with whatever is plugged into your system (awesome). If you are in between songs and you want to tune you can hit the mute pedal and the people will not hear what you are doing. Tuning is a breeze during concerts this way.
